Vineyards Country Club Hosts Memorial Day Weekend Medalist Tour Event
Naples, FL - The South Florida PGA Junior Tour spent the Memorial Day weekend at Vineyards Country Club for a two-day, 36-hole Medalist Tour event May 28-29.

After two consecutive under-par rounds, Anthony Garcia of Miami finished the 36-hole-event at 8-under, 67-69–136. Garcia managed only two bogeys over the two-day stretch, to go along with 10 birdies, routing himself to his second Medalist Tour victory of the year in the boys 13-18 division.
Finishing runner-up in the boys 13-18 division, Christian Allen of Estero carded the tournament low round of 6-under 66. Allen recorded eight birdies over his final 18 holes with five of them coming on the back-nine.
In the girls 13-18 division, Jordan Knox of Fort Myers, in her first Medalist Tour event of the year, managed a two-day total of 6-over, 74-76–150, claiming first place honors by one shot over Morgan Franklin of Fort Myers. Knox led the field in pars or better with 30.
Christian Koehn of Winter Park won the boys 11-12 division at 3-under, 70-71–141, one shot better than runner-up finisher, Sarp Gurdogan of Palm Beach Gardens. Koehn, who was one of only two players in the entire field to finish both rounds under-par, managed only one bogey over the two days, including a bogey-free final round.
The event also doubled as a South Florida Junior PGA Championship qualifier, with the top seven boys and top three girls scores from the first round advancing.

Boys - Hubert Ramirez (Miami), Bautista Valeiras (Naples), Charlie Davis (Naples), Connor DeMichele (Sarasota), Christian Allen (Estero), Graham Boone (Naples) and Antonio Justo (Miami Shores)
Girls - Morgan Franklin (Fort Myers), Payton Balliet (Naples) and Gloria Nip (Port St. Lucie)
