Month-Long National Day of HOPE Begins Today
The South Florida PGA Foundation has conducted over 675 hours of PGA HOPE programming and has impacted the lives of over 1,000 local veterans since 2015.
“Participation in the SFPGA HOPE program has provided me the opportunity to meet and socialize with other veterans who, like me, enjoy the game of golf, '' said United States Navy Veteran, Carl Wolf. “The SFPGA Family is special in that it goes beyond the golf course and friendships are made.”
Starting today, National Day of HOPE runs until November 11th with the goal of raising funds for PGA HOPE Programs nationwide. The month-long campaign aims to commemorate our nation’s heroes who protect our freedom and raise awareness and support for PGA HOPE programs.
PGA HOPE South Florida affords Veterans throughout the south Florida community an opportunity to learn the game of golf at zero costs to them. Programs are open to all veterans with disabilities, enhancing their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
The South Florida PGA Foundation has set a goal of raising a minimum $5,000 this month with PGA Reach matching up to $5,000 in funds. All funds raised will go directly to our South Florida PGA HOPE programs.
While PGA HOPE programs run for six weeks, our main goal is to continue offering various golfing opportunities that will help veterans reap the benefits the game has to offer.
“PGA HOPE has provided healing and comradeship that I never thought was possible,” explained Ken Strange, a United States Army Veteran. “Sharing golf with fellow Veterans has fostered a renewed purpose and sense of belonging that is priceless.”
If your facility is not currently involved with PGA HOPE, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity as any donation will go a long way.
