May Foundation Spotlight: Tom Patri, PGA, Transforms Lives Through Golf Marathons
Tom Patri, PGA Director of Player Development at TwinEagles Club, has played over 1,000 holes of golf to raise funds and awareness for the South Florida PGA Foundation and its programming.
The South Florida PGA Foundation is the charitable arm of the South Florida PGA, with a mission to serve the south Florida community and change lives through the game of golf.
"When I first got involved with the South Florida PGA Foundation, I wanted to give back through the game of golf," recalled Patri. "The golf marathon and mission of the Foundation made the most sense for what I was trying to accomplish."
Each year, Patri sets out to play as many holes as possible in one day. Since 2017, Patri has raised nearly $70,000, showcasing his commitment to the cause.
The SFPGA Foundation has been a beacon of hope and transformation in south Florida for nearly two decades. Its charitable focus aligns perfectly with Patri's vision of using golf as a vehicle for positive change.
This year, Patri continued his annual tradition with his eighth golf marathon on May 28th, adding over $10,000 to his fundraising efforts through 117 holes of golf.
"Every day I come to the golf course, and it's like a paid vacation," Patri reflects. "There are people out there who are not nearly as fortunate and do not have the resources available that I do. If I can help them get ahead or get back on their feet, whatever the case, I want to do that."
The SFPGA Foundation has a charitable focus on youth, military, and families and has transformed the lives of over 12,000 individuals in our local community.
Patri's legacy extends beyond the holes he has played and the funds he has raised; it includes the countless lives he has touched with his unwavering commitment to giving back through the game of golf.
