Jerry Tucker, PGA Wins the 2019 E-Z-GO South Florida Open Senior Division
NAPLES, FL Jerry Tucker, PGA of Jerry Tucker Golf shot an eight-under 136 today to win the 2019 E-Z-GO South Florida Open Senior Division at Bonita Bay Club Cypress and Sabel courses.
Tucker shot a 66 yesterday to open the tournament and was able to hold on with a 70 today to edge out Jan Urso, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Inverrary Country Club by two strokes.
In the Championship Division, Justin Ahasic of Synergy Golf in Naples leads the Championship Division with a 17-under 127 after 36 holes of play. After shooting 66 to open the tournament, Ahasic went bogey free and rolled in 11 birdies to shoot an 11-under 61, leading the field by eight strokes.
A personal best for Ahasic, the 61 is a course record for the Sabel Course at Bonita Bay Club.
In second place is amateur Scott Turner of Hammock Creek Golf Club after shooting a 65 today and a 135 for the tournament.
The 150-player field was cut after the conclusions of today round with the remaining players set to begin the final round of play at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow morning on the Cypress Course.
The 2019 E-Z-GO South Florida Open, presented by Technogym and supported by Antigua, JaniKing, Precise, Tagmarshal, Winners Award Group and TurfHound, is one of the South Florida PGA major championships and annually features the top PGA professionals and amateurs in South Florida.
