Stretching across the entire length of the driving range and peppering the chipping green, over 100 women from south Florida dominated the practice facilities of Jupiter Country Club. The South Florida PGA hosted their seventh annual Women’s Golf Day in Jupiter this past Saturday. This event was for ladies interested in gaining golf skills in a fun and social setting. Women rotated to three different skills stations, where they received personal and group instruction from PGA Professionals, experts on the game of golf. AT each station participants learned how to perfect their putting, chip or pitch to minimize their scoring and how to swing toward a target.
Following the skills instruction, former LPGA Tour player, Barb Bunkowsky, LPGA gave a group clinic showcasing her acclimated golf skills. Bunkowsky shared how she practices, what it was like playing on the LPGA Tour and answered questions including proper club fitting practices for the average female golfer. To complete the day, the host facility invited all into the clubhouse for a cocktail reception. The entire event was free for all who attended, provided by the South Florida PGA in an effort to empower women of all skill levels to get out and golfing with the new skills and friends they acquired at this event.
