South Florida PGA hosts the first PGA HOPE Cup at Banyan Cay Resort and Golf
West Palm Beach, FL - On Saturday, the South Florida PGA Foundation hosted its inaugural PGA HOPE Cup at Banyan Cay Resort and Golf.

Since 2015, the South Florida PGA has conducted over 60 PGA HOPE Programs for more than 1,000 local Veterans. In addition, SFPGA Professionals have dedicated over 650 hours of instruction to PGA HOPE Programs.
With the goal to provide a memorable experience to military veterans and the PGA Professionals who positively impact their lives through the HOPE Program, the inaugural PGA HOPE Cup included 11 teams playing in a 9-hole scramble. Each team was composed of four veterans who have graduated from the PGA HOPE program, and one PGA professional.
“It was amazing that we were able to play at such a beautiful golf course. The PGA HOPE program has been an excellent program to get us, Veterans, together and learn the sport of Golf. At least for me, it was a dream come true and complete motivation to continue golfing." A participant shared.
John Moscoso, PGA, and his team, including HOPE graduates, Luis Chamorro Pachecho, Cesar Romero, Carlos Lopez, and Laz Fumero finished in first place with a group total of 6-under 30. Moscoso has been a part of the South Florida PGA HOPE program since 2016 and has instructed 12 programs.

In support of our veterans and PGA HOPE Programming the South Florida PGA is excited to launch this year’s National Day of HOPE Campaign set to begin October 11th and run through Veteran’s Day on November 11th. Be sure to follow us on social media for updates and more information on the campaign.
