South Florida PGA Foundation and Keiser University Will Partner to Serve the Community Through Golf
West Palm Beach, FL - The South Florida PGA Foundation and Keiser University have joined forces in a partnership with the goal of positively impacting the south Florida community through the game of golf and education.
“The South Florida PGA Foundation is thrilled to leverage the support of Keiser University to continue to make a difference through golf in our community,” said SFPGA executive director Geoff Lofstead. “We enthusiastically welcome Keiser University to our family of partners.”
With a membership of nearly 2,000 PGA Professionals, the South Florida PGA’s mission goes far beyond serving its members and growing the game of golf. Through its programming, the SFPGA Foundation has impacted over 13,500 individuals through the game of golf, focusing on youth, military and families. The $740,000 annually spent on programming will be enhanced through the support of Keiser University.
“We all strive to grow the game, membership and peak interest in the industry," said South Florida PGA Hall of Fame inductee Donna White, PGA. “Through the Keiser Flagship-SFPGA partnership, opportunities abound for our golf students and those majoring in other disciplines to get involved in the many section level initiatives.”
The program is led by nine PGA Professionals, including Legacy Master Professional, Eric Wilson, Ph.D., PGA Master Professional in Instruction, Brian Hughes, PGA and PGA Master Professional, David Wixson, PGA to name a few.
“The partnership brings together two organizations whose missions coincide to promote the game of golf and advance the benefits of higher education,” explained Wilson. “We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship going forward.”
Looking ahead to 2024, Keiser will be the presenting partner of the PGA HOPE Classic, the flagship event for the South Florida PGA Foundation that annually raises over $80,000 to support local veterans. The 2024 HOPE Classic will be held on May 16 at Lost Tree Club.
Additionally, Keiser will serve as the presenting partner for the South Florida PGA Junior Tour’s East and West Coast High School Championships which are held each fall, one on both coasts of south Florida.
