South Florida Junior Golfers Advance to Drive, Chip and Putt Regional Qualifier
ATLANTIS, FL - The road to Augusta National has gotten shorter as 36 junior golfers advance to the Regional Qualifying round on September 28th at TPC Sawgrass.
The Drive, Chip & Putt Championship is a youth golf development initiative for boys and girls ages 7-15. The Drive, Chip and Putt Championship began in 2013 and is supported by the USGA, Augusta National and The PGA of America.
All 41 sections of The PGA of America host qualifiers to determine who will participate in the 2020 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship. There are three levels of qualifiers: local, sub-regional and regional. The top 80 performers - 40 boys and 40 girls - will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday, April 5, the eve of the 2020 Masters.
This summer, the South Florida PGA hosted 10 local qualifying rounds, hosting hundereds of sout Florida junior golfers with hopes of advancing to Sub-Regional qualifying. Each round advanced just XX golfers.
The Sub-Regional Qualifying rounds were held at Vineyards Country Club in Naples and at Lost City Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The 36 golfers advancing are:
Boys 7-9: Ryan Nana Tanke, Bento Assis, Crew Satkoski, Zachary Felton
Boys 10-11: Tristan Rhodenizer, Ignacio Hurtado, Skyler Naknoon, Adrian Bahnam
Boys 12-13: Tyler Chapman, Oscar Crowe, Braden Miller, Ramon Oyarzun
Boys 14-15: NaShawn Tyson, Elijah Zamarron, Kevin Kelly, Kody Horton
Girls 7-9: Reese McMillan, Olivia Hartman, Kinley Mills, Tatyana Villegas
Girls 10-11: Madeleine Burda, Brianna Breto, Elyse Meerdink, Krishny Elwin
Girls 12-13: Alessandra Tabora Lorenz, Gabriella DeGasperis, Morgan Rodriguez, Maria Quintero
Girls 14-15: Samantha Shann, Hailey Eisert, Eliza Kodak, Alana Kutt
The Regional Qualifier will determine the junior golfers who move on to compete on the National Level at Augusta National, prior to the 2020 Masters Tournament."
