SFPGA Junior Tour Hosts Back-to-Back Prep Tour Events
The South Florida PGA Junior Tour wrapped up another weekend of events after hosting two Prep Tour tournaments in the south Florida area.
On Saturday, the Prep Tour visited Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, where 60 junior golfers competed in a one-day 18-hole event.
Winning the boys 9-10 division, Axel Monssoh from Miami took the first-place spot after putting up an impressive one-under-par 71 during the event. In the boys 11-12 division, Jonah Fernandez of Miami Shores finished at the top of his division with a total score of 79. Talan Wilkes, from Jupiter, took home the first-place medal in the boys 13-18 division after shooting 80 at the event.
Earning the top spot in the girls 9-10 division, Leah Gram of Jupiter finished the event with a score of 85. Sophia Coronel from Miami, won the girls 11-12 division with a score of 87 and winning the girls 13-18 division was Summer Pilot of Boca Raton with a 67 through 15 holes.
On Sunday, Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach hosted 71 junior tour players on their East Course. The strong wind conditions put these player’s skills to the ultimate test.
Monssoh carded another impressive four-under-par 68 on Sunday to win the boys 9-10 division. Finishing in first place for the boys 11-12 division was Ryder Kenney of North Palm Beach with a score of 78. Andrew Crout of Palm Beach Gardens won the boys 13-18 division after carding a 78.
In the girls 9-10 division, Olivia Hartman of Palm Beach Gardens finished the day with a 77. Catherine Andino of Boca Raton won the girls 11-12 after a scorecard playoff against Morgan Cole of Boca Raton. Andino carded a 79 with a total of two birdies. Pilot went back-to-back to win Sunday’s event with a 76, including a hole-in-one on the 13th.
