Mike San Filippo, PGA and Matthew Markle, PGA Win Senior-Super-Senior

Mike San Filippo, PGA and Matthew Markle, PGA shot an 11-under 60 to win the Senior-Super-Senior Championship today at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach.
Mike San Filippo, PGA at Lost Lake and Matthew Markle, PGA of Cleveland Golf/Srixon edged out Team Kennedy by one stroke. Roger Kennedy Jr, PGA Director of Golf at The Country Club at Mirasol and Roger Kennedy Sr., PGA Life Member won this event last year.
Markle, playing in his first event as a “Senior” was able to use his advantage off the tee and couple it with San Filippo’s wedge play to capture 11 birdies on the day.
San Filippo and Markle carded 11 birdies and went bogey free, including three birdies in a row to close out the tournament. In addition to the Kennedy duo, Chris Junk, PGA and Jay Horton, PGA as well as David Ladd, PGA and Jim Simon, PGA, shot 10-under for a three-way tie for second.
The Senior-Super-Senior Championship was an 18-hole stroke play event with nine holes played using a four-ball stroke play format and nine as a two-person scramble. Teams were comprised of one senior professional aged 50-64 and one super senior professional 65 or older.
