Team Kennedy, a father son duo from the Country Club at Mirasol, won the Senior-Super-Senior Championship today at Monarch Country Club.
Roger Kennedy, PGA Life Member and Roger Kennedy Jr., PGA Director of Golf at the Country Club of Mirasol shot a nine-under 63 to edge out Gary Baker, PGA and Larry Gantzer, PGA from Grey Oaks Country Club by one.
The Kennedy duo carded nine birdies and no bogeys, including three straight birdies to close out the round and secure the victory. Baker and Ganzer’s eight-under 64 was enough to earn them sole second place honors while Rick Gomes/Fred Harkness and Jerry Tucker/Jack Shoenfelt tied for third with seven-under 65’s.
The Senior-Super-Senior Championship was an 18-hole stroke play event with nine holes played using a four-ball stroke play format and nine as a two-person scramble. Teams were comprised of one senior professional aged 50-64 and one super senior professional 65 or older.
