Sean Foley, Jon Tattersal Headlined South Florida PGA Teaching Symposium
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – The South Florida PGA Teaching Symposium took place the last two days at the Country Club at Mirasol and was headlined by speakers Sean Foley and Jon Tattersall.
Joining Foley and Tattersall to educate the 100 PGA members in attendance were Will Robins, PGA, Jeremy Wells, PGA, Renee O’Higgins, PGA, Jess Dickson, PGA, Chase Garris, PGA and Teaching and Coaching Committee Chair Jason Baile, PGA.
The group led sessions over the two days that covered golf swing coaching and technique, technology, fitness, short game, programming and how to overall, be a better PGA coach to clients, students and members.
Tattersall, an early adopter of technology, co-founding Fusion ATL and a coach of multiple touring professionals, opened the first day with a two-hour presentation covering technology in coaching and techniques to building a better golf swing with students. Foley, current host of Golf Channel’s, “Playing Lessons,” and successful PGA/LPGA TOUR coach followed with stories on his career, lessons learned and the components that build a great athlete, player and person.
Day two began with stations hosted by rising stars in the south Florida teaching scene, featuring Section professionals: Jeremy Wells, PGA Director of Instruction at Cypress Lake Golf Club; Renee O’Higgins, PGA Director of Instruction at Quail West Country Club, Jess Dickson, PGA Teaching Professional at Palmira Golf Club and Chase Garris, PGA Teaching Professional at Jupiter Hills Club.
Will Robins, PGA, owner of WRGolf Coaching based in Sacramento County, CA and the CEO of Robins Golf Logistix (RGX), closed out the program with a presentation on the PGA Modern Coach and the fundamentals of group coaching.
The Teaching Symposium was supported by Foresight Sports, JumboMax Grips, Liv Pur Nutrition and Clippd who each presented over the two days.
