Moving forward into 2019, Torrington is still completing push-ups on a daily basis with a new goal of doing 40,000 prior to the PGA HOPE Golf Classic on May 9th
at The Loxahatchee Club. PGA HOPE is a program administered under the umbrella of the South Florida PGA Foundation whereby veterans learn the game of golf as a form of therapy and assimilation back into civilian life.
Since 2015 this program has positively impacted the lives of more than 475 veterans and in 2019 that number will continue to grow, especially with the help of Torrington.
“I have had the great fortune of witnessing this program first hand, and I can honestly say the impact it is having is amazing. The camaraderie developed among the veterans, the friendships created and the physical benefits it is providing are tremendous,” says Torrington the Chairperson of the PGA HOPE Classic Golf Committee.
Torrington is hopeful that others will join him in his challenge, like the ALS bucket challenge by giving 20 for $20 and sharing their challenge on social media, encouraging their friends and family to do the same. The question is, will you join in the challenge?
