Lee Stoever, PGA and Superintendent Stuart Bothe shot an 11-under 61 to win the gross division in the E-Z-GO South Florida PGA Pro-Superintendent at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club.
Stroever and Bothe combined for 11 birdies and went bogey-free, including shooting seven-under on the par 4’s at the Fazio course which includes 10 par 4’s. The Emerald Dunes duo edged out a three-way tie at 11-under in a scorecard playoff which included Patrick Rada, PGA and Thomas Barrett representing McArthur Golf Club and Justin Bertsch, PGA and Andy Newton from Club Pelican Bay.
In the net division, Matt Newman and Kyle Asbury from Broken Sound Club took the title with 55.8 strokes, beating Bertsch and Newton who settled at 56.5 strokes. In the net division, 30 percent of the superintendents handicap constitutes the team handicap.
The E-Z-GO South Florida PGA Pro-Superintendent is played in the form of a two-person scramble where PGA Professionals from across south Florida team up with the superintendents from their respective facilities.
