Paul Clivio Receives South Florida PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award

ATLANTIS, FL – Paul Clivio, PGA Director of Golf at St. Andrews Country Club, receives the 2019 South Florida PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award.

The Bill Strausbaugh Award recognizes the PGA Professional whose overall commitment is promoting the game, the Association and fellow PGA Professionals. This individual is honored for his/her integrity, leadership ability, professional mentoring and community involvement surrounding golf.

“I really can’t begin to explain how deeply honored I am to receive this award. We have so many great PGA Professionals in our section so to be recognized by my peers for such an award is very special. I will always remember this and continue to strive to be a leader in our great profession,” said Clivio.

For the last 24 years, Clivio has held every position in golf at St. Andrews, starting as a bag room employee. Now as Director of Golf, Clivio has been an exemplary role model for his fellow PGA Professionals.

Clivio has distinguished himself by mentoring his fellow PGA Professionals in improving their employment situations and through service to the community. He is committed to providing fellow PGA Professionals with the tools and opportunities necessary for success.

From early on his career, Clivio vowed to be a mentor to his peers and remains an active member of the Association and encourages his colleagues to do the same. Clivio currently serves on the South Florida PGA Board of Directors as the Southeast Chapter President.

The Bill Strausbaugh Award is one of the South Florida PGA’s annual awards. Each award recipient as well as Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the SFPGA Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner on November 12th at the Country Club at Mirasol. Click here for a list of this year’s award winners.
