Holly Taylor Named South Florida PGA Merchandiser of the Year for Resort Category

ATLANTIS, FL – Holly Taylor, PGA Director of Golf at PGA Golf Club receives the 2019 South Florida PGA Merchandiser of the Year for the Resort Category.

The Merchandiser of the Year is presented to the PGA Professional who has demonstrated superior skills as a merchandiser in the promotion of golf.

“I am thrilled to receive this prestigious honor,” said Taylor, a two-time Merchandiser of the Year award recipient from the Southeast Chapter of the South Florida PGA. “At PGA Golf Club, we aim to provide our guests with a memorable experience from the moment they arrive. Through the hard work and dedication from our entire team, our golf shop has earned the Platinum Award from the Association of Golf Merchandisers for four years running. We’re proud to add this recognition to our list of reputable accolades.”

When Taylor arrived at PGA Golf Club 11 years ago, her merchandising philosophy was quite different. While she buys from more vendors and more collections, each collection is smaller, with a goal to train her membership to buy quickly before their size and style is sold out.

Taylor spends 40 percent of her time directly involved in the management program, overseeing quarterly inventories and on tweaking the product mix. In addition, Taylor attends all appointments and shows with her merchandise manager to see vendors and collections first-hand.

The Merchandiser of the Year (Resort) Award is one of the South Florida PGA’s annual awards. Each award recipient as well as Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the SFPGA Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner on November 12th at the Country Club at Mirasol.
