Bela Nagy Wins South Florida PGA Youth Player Development Award

ATLANTIS, FL – Bela Nagy, PGA Director of Golf at Sandridge Golf Club receives the 2019 South Florida PGA Youth Player Development Award.

The Youth Player Development Award recognizes a PGA Professional who utilizes his/her leadership skills to promote and develop junior golf at the club and community levels.

“Winning the Youth Player Development Award for the South Florida Section is a testament of the year-round junior programming we have implemented over the years at Sandridge Golf Club,” said Nagy. “It’s an honor to come from the first junior program in 1987 at Sandridge Golf Club to be able to coordinate and watch it flourish for the past twenty-four years.  I am extremely proud of the junior golfers that have come through our program who are working in the golf industry as well as those who still play golf after graduating.”

Throughout his career, Nagy has been directly involved in junior golf programming in Indian River County and surrounding areas. Since 1987, Sandridge has offered a special rate to junior golfers, charging just one-dollar a round in an effort to keep our youth playing the game.

As a product of the junior golf program at Sandridge himself, Nagy has always carried a passion to work with kids to develop them as players and as great human beings. What started as only summer camps has grown to a year-round program.

The Youth Player Development Award is one of the South Florida PGA’s annual awards. Each award recipient as well as Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the SFPGA Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner on November 12th at the Country Club at Mirasol.
