Mark Brown and Mark Mielke Win Senior Series Pro-Pro
North Palm Beach, FL - Mark Brown, PGA and Mark Mielke fired a 10-under 61 to win the South Florida PGA Senior Series Pro-Pro at North Palm Beach Country Club.
Mielke, a Teaching Professional at High Ridge Country Club and Brown, a Teaching Professional at The Yacht & Country Club managed a clean scorecard, including eight birdies and an eagle on the par-5 third hole to win the championship by two shots.
Since becoming a member of the South Florida PGA Section in October of 2022, Brown has made his case as one of the best Senior Players in the Section, competing at and winning low-pro honors at the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. His teammate, Mielke was also a participant in the Major Championship.
Finishing in a tie for second was host professionals, Allan Bowman, PGA and Chris Dachisen, PGA who matched Lance McAllister, PGA and Dave Alpeter, PGA of Wellington National Golf Club at 8-under.
Rounding out the top-5 at 7-under were the teams of Steven Vecellio, PGA / John Pershern, PGA, John Lee, PGA / Daniel Heaslip, PGA and defending champions, Jerry Tucker, PGA and Joe Kern, PGA.
Mielke, the reigning Section Senior Player of the year currently sits in second in the points standings, only 10 points behind Alan Morin, PGA while Brown sits in third, seven points back of Mielke with less than two weeks to go before the South Florida PGA Senior Section Championship.
The event hosted 33 teams of two Senior PGA Professionals competing in a four-ball format over 18 holes at North Palm Beach Country Club.
