Imperial Golf Club Hosts Annual Teaching Symposium with Joe Hallett, PGA
Naples, FL - Imperial Golf Club hosted the 2025 South Florida PGA Teaching Symposium, October 7-8, welcoming 70 South Florida PGA of America Golf Professionals for two days of golf instruction led by 2024 PGA of America Teacher and Coach of the Year, Joe Hallett, PGA.
The SFPGA Teaching Symposium is an annual education opportunity for all SFPGA Professionals to learn, engage, network and share best practices that can be taken back to an individual's facility and teaching ground.
Joe Hallett, PGA Director of Instruction at Vanderbilt Legends Club and Golf Digest Top-50 instructor served as the emcee with guest speakers, John Dunigan, PGA Director of Instruction at Applebrook Golf Club, Dan McLellan, PGA Assistant Professional at John Webster Golf Academy, John Webster, PGA Director of Instruction at John Webster Golf Academy and Matt Wilson, PGA Director of Instruction at Baltusrol Golf Club.

Day one opened with breakout stations led by SFPGA rising stars Joe Cochran, PGA Director of Instruction at Shadow Wood Country Club, and Nick Baumhart, PGA Director of Golf at The Back Nine Golf—Naples. All participants were able to engage in each demonstration.
Following the breakout sessions, SFPGA Career Consultant, Ted Logan hosted a Q and A, before SFPGA supporting partner FineTuned showcased its custom putter fittings.
The group then moved to a presentation on developing an academy led by Webster and McLellan of John Webster Golf Academy, and ended with a special reception honoring 2024 SFPGA Teacher of the Year, Bob Usher, PGA.
Day two opened with an engaging, enthusiastic presentation provided by four-time Philadelphia PGA Section Teacher of the Year John Dunigan who serves as the PGA Director of Instruction at Applewood Golf Club. He focused on the mental side of golf and how the brain controls the swing. Following his presentation, PGA Director of Instruction, Matt Wilson, delivered a comprehensive presentation on making the right changes with players using technology and data. They both shared incredible stories and experiences with all in attendance. Prior to closing out the event with a panel discussion, Addie Baggerly, representative of Clippd shared data on how to use data and the benefits programs such as theirs can benefit players and coaches.
This program was filled with energy, passion and a lot of knowledge from experienced industry leaders.
The 2025 South Florida PGA Teaching Symposium was supported by Clippd and FineTuned and was hosted at Imperial Golf Club in Naples. Imperial is led by PGA General Manager, John Lee and PGA Head Professional, Joe Allinder.
