Moving Day at the SFPGA Professional Championship
Today was moving day at the South Florida PGA Professional Championship and going six under does not hurt. PGA Professional Mike Valicenti of Jonathan’s Landing at Old Trail advanced from tied for 19th position to tied for first. Four birdies on his final nine holes turned his day around on the North Course at The Club at Mediterra. Valicenti is no stranger to success on the North Course, having previously tied for first in Monday’s SFPGA Tournament Series #2 event presented by Homna and Arete Industries-Golf Designer.
Remaining near the top of the leader board, last year’s champion Andrew Filbert, PGA Assistant Professional at Bonita National Golf Course, is tied for first at a total eight under par. Three PGA Professionals are tied for third at seven under par including John Lee PGA General Manager at Imperial Golf Club, Adam Scrimenti PGA Head Golf Professional at Plantation Preserve Golf Course, and Justin Bertsch PGA Head Golf Professional at Hideout Golf Club. Sixty-five PGA Professionals have advanced to compete in the third and final round of the competition where twelve PGA Professionals will advance onto compete in the 2019 PGA Professional Championship at Belfair in South Carolina.
