ATLANTIS, FL – Alyssa Fritz (Cape Coral) and Natthawat Sakchawanpob (Boca Raton) took home the fifth event of the South Florida PGA Championship Tour season on October 6th at the Polo Club of Boca Raton.
The 36-hole event welcomed junior golfers aged 13-18 from across south Florida to the Polo Club of Boca Raton.
Fritz, 2022, overcame a first round 81 to shoot a five-under 67 during the final round to win the Overall Girl’s 13-18 Division. Fueled by a final round that consisted of six birdies and one bogey, Fritz’s overall 148 total over the two days was enough to win by three over Amelie Alcantara of Boca Raton.
Sakchawanpob, 2020, carded a first-round 68 to help take the lead by three over Tyler Stachkunas (Lake Worth) in the Overall Boy’s 13-18 Division. After a second-round 75, Sakchawanpob was able to keep the lead and edge out Stachkunas by two.
Earning low medalists in the Boy’s and Girl’s 16-18 Division were Amelie Alcantara (77-79, 151) and Sakchawanpob and low medal honors in the Boy’s and Girl’s 13-15 Division were Frank Kennedy (78-73, 151) and Fritz.
The Championship Tour is one of the South Florida PGA Junior Golf’s five tours in which young golfers can compete. The South Florida PGA Junior Challenge Tour is a series of two-day events at some of South Florida’s premiere facilities. Membership is open to all juniors 13-18 who meet certain scoring and age requirements.
