Cahill and Wells Look Back on an Incredible Experience at the 2023 PGA Championship
The 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club is complete and Jeremy Wells, PGA and Matt Cahill, PGA reflect on their opportunity to live out a dream.
Wells and Cahill represented the South Florida PGA and the PGA of America as members of the Corebridge Financial PGA Team at this year's PGA Championship after qualifying through the National PGA Professional Championship.
“It is so difficult to put into words how incredible it is to play against the best golfers in the world in front of thousands of fans on one of the greatest courses ever built,” Wells said. “I am honored to have represented the PGA in such a great tournament.”
The Major marked the debut for both Wells, the Director of Instruction at Cypress Lake Golf Club and Cahill, the Head Professional at Seminole Golf Club.
“The PGA Championship was everything I expected and so much more," Cahill explained. “I was thrilled to be able to represent the PGA of America Professionals in the strongest field of the year.”
Getting to tee it up alongside the games best players at an iconic venue is something most people will only ever be able to dream about and Wells made sure to take everything in as an incredible learning experience.
“It was certainly the most difficult golf course I've ever played, I absolutely cannot wait for another chance at this," Wells said.
While Wells and Cahill didn’t have the finish they wanted, the overall support from the South Florida PGA community and support from Seminole and Cypress Lake was something they will never forget.
“A huge thank you to my family and team for their sport and encouragement, the staff and members of Seminole made me feel like I had the whole world behind me,” Cahill said. I will remember this week for the rest of my life.”
