Tomorrow, October 19th the South Florida PGA will conduct the inaugural Women’s Section Championship featuring 22 female PGA members from all across South Florida including Fort Lauderdale and Naples. This year’s event will be played at Quail Ridge Country Club on the South Course and tee times will begin at 8 a.m. off of hole #1.
It is only fitting for this first-time championship to be held at Quail Ridge, as the perpetual trophy for the event is named after Pam Brosnihan, PGA Professional at Quail Ridge from 1992 until she passed in 2014 when she lost her fight against cancer. The South Florida PGA continues to strive to keep her legacy alive through events of this nature.
The event will feature Florida native, Taylor Collins, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Coral Ridge Country Club. Collins grew up playing golf on the South Florida PGA Junior Tour and recently competed in the 2020 South Florida PGA Professional Championship in late September where she made the cut in the 54-hole event.
