The South Florida PGA hosted its annual Teaching Symposium this week at The Country Club at Mirasol.
This year, PGA Professionals learned from some of the best instructors in the game including, Todd Anderson, PGA, Mike Shannon, PGA and Jason Baile, PGA. Additionally, the attendees enjoyed a fireside chat with Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes.
The two-day event led with Shannon who is widely known as one of the best putting instructors in golf. Anderson followed up the session by talking through best practices in teaching the full swing. Anderson has taught Billy Horschel and many touring professionals throughout his career.
Baile, Director of Instruction at Jupiter Hills Club kicked off day two and went through how to apply body awareness to the golf swing as well as developing individual game plans for students.
Holmes closed out the program with an intimate conversation about his playing career in football and how those skills - both mental and physical- translate to his newfound love of golf.
The Teaching Symposium is an annual event the SFPGA hosts to help its professionals further their skills and techniques in teaching and coaching the game of golf. The 2021 Teaching Symposium was sponsored by SuperSpeed Golf and Therabody.
