Indian Spring Country Club Hosts Weekend Junior Event

Boynton Beach, Fl - Hubert Ramirez of Miami claimed first place honors in the boys 13-18 division after winning in a sudden death playoff Sunday at Indian Spring Country Club for a junior tour event hosted by the South Florida PGA.

Ramirez started the final round at even-par, four strokes behind the leader. After going 1-under, 71 over the final 18 holes, waiting for the final groups to come in, he found himself at the top of the leaderboard.

Ramirez and Jack Nicoletta of Palm Beach Gardens would go into a sudden-death playoff starting on hole 10. Ramirez would go on to par, good enough to win the trophy. He wrapped up the two rounds at 1-under, 72-71–143.

Winning the girls 13-18 division, Ariana Silva of Fort Lauderdale carded a career low in the final round at 5-under, 67. Her round included only one bogey to go along with four birdies and an eagle. Silva finished the 36-hole-event at 6-under, 71-67–138.

Sarp Gurdogen of Palm Beach Gardens won first place in the boys 11-12 division at 2-under, 73-69–142. Taking home the trophy in the girls 11-12 division, Ashley Balcom of Lighthouse Point finished at 9-over, 77-76–153.

The two-day, 36-hole-event included 79 juniors competing in four different divisions.
