The SFPGA Championship Tour held its fourth tournament of the season at The Champions Club at Summerfield. This weekend’s field featured 73 of south Florida’s top junior players.
Jaden Russell of Miami claimed the boys 13-18 division title after carding a 72-73 to finish one-over for the tournament. His two rounds included seven birdies. This marks Russell’s first win on the Junior Tour since the Winter Kickoff. Jonathan Mourin of Plantation finished one stroke behind Russell.
Gloria Nip of Port St. Lucie secured the girls 13-18 division title with a tournament finish of three-under-par. Nip’s first-round included three birdies and six birdies during her second round. This marks Nip’s lowest 36-hole record. Madison Moman of Palm Beach Gardens had back-to-back even-par rounds to take home second place.
The first round served as a qualifier for the upcoming South Florida Junior PGA Championship. Twelve spots were available for the boys and six spots were open for the girl's division.
A special thank you to PGA Professional David Ladd at The Champions Club for hosting these juniors this weekend.
