BOCA RATON, FL – Today 28 teams comprised of one PGA Professional/Associate and one junior aged 10-18 competed in the 2018 Pro-Junior Championship presented by Callaway Golf and supported by Skimp USA at Stonebridge Country Club in Boca Raton.
At the close of competition Mike Berger of the Club Med Golf Academy and junior Fred Biondi found themselves at the top of the leaderboard. Firing an impressive 57 (-15) they captured the title by four shots to Jon Balyeat, PGA Head Golf Professional at Quail Creek Country Club and junior Tommy Pezeshkan along with Jerry Tucker, PGA Professional at the Jerry Tucker Golf School and junior Alex Vogelsong. Balyeat and Tucker’s team both shot 61 hoping it was good enough to finish first.
This event featured some of south Florida’s top ranked junior golfers who teamed up with their golf professional for a fun day of golf. Teams played a 9-9 format with the front nine being a better ball format and the back nine being a scramble.
