38th Challenge Cup Matches Now Underway

NAPLES, FL - This morning the 38th Annual Challenge Cup Matches got underway at The Old Collier Golf Club in Naples.  This annual Ryder Cup style event brings together the South Florida PGA's and North Florida PGA's top twelve tournament players who compete against each other in three different formats.  

Each team is comprised of ten junior members and two seniors (50+).  This year's South Florida PGA team is captained by Danny St. Louis, PGA Director of Golf at The Breakers Rees Jones Course and comprised of: Colin Amaral (The Country Club at Mirasol), Justin Bertsch (The Hideout), Andrew Filbert (Royal Poinciana), John Lee (Imperial Golf Club), Justin McCarraher (Fiddlesticks Country Club), Mark Mielke (High Ridge Country Club), Alan Morin (The Falls of the Palm Beaches), Patrick Rada (McArthur Golf Club), Mike Valicenti (The Country Club at Mirasol), Jeff Waber (Broken Sound Club – Old Course), Dan Heaslip (Windstar on Naples Bay) and Gene Fieger (Club Pelican Bay).

The schedule of matches will be as follows:
  • Tuesday – 8 AM – 8:50 AM – four-ball team matches – 18 holes
  • Tuesday 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM – modified foursome team matches – 18 holes
  • Wednesday – 8:00 AM – 9:17 AM – singles matches – 18 holes
