ATLANTIS, FL - The Southwest Chapter of the South Florida PGA held their annual Spring Meeting at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club. The 176 members attended the Meeting of the Membership which included Chapter elections, 2018 Player of the Year Awards recognition, and charitable gifting. During the meeting, members enjoyed hearing from Karl Bublitz, PGA Section Vice President; Geoff Lofstead, Section Executive Director; and Kathy Grayson, Career Consultant. After the meeting, 128 members participated in an afternoon scramble to finish out the day.

The Southwest Chapter is proud to announce the new board of directors who were sworn in during the meeting: Nathan Groce, PGA President; Jeff Nixon, PGA Vice President; and Matthew Oakley, PGA Secretary. The Section and Southwest Chapter would like to graciously thank Bill Harley, PGA for his commitment and service as President for the past two years.
Congratulations to the following members recognized at the meeting for their 2018 awards: Justin Bertsch, PGA – Player of the Year; Dan Heaslip, PGA – Senior Player of the Year; and Justin McCarraher, PGA – Assistant Player of the Year.

The Southwest Chapter also presented donations to the following organizations: Salus Care, Florida Gulf Coast PGM Program, Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association, and Cape Coral Junior Golf. The annual Southwest Chapter educational grant was awarded to recent high school graduate, Amanda Higginbotham.
