Gene Fieger, Chris Kaufman and Mark Mielke to Compete in the 80th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship

ATLANTIS, FL – South Florida PGA members Gene Fieger, Chris Kaufman and Mark Mielke are set to compete in the 80th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this week at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY.

Fieger, Kaufman and Mielke will represent the South Florida PGA and will be three of 35 PGA professionals to compete in the field after qualifying during the four-day  Senior PGA Professional Championship at the PGA Golf Club in October 2018.

Fieger, who is the PGA Director of Golf at Club Pelican Bay in Naples, tied for ninth at the Senior PGA Professional Championship after going 71-71-66-74 for a 282 total. This will be Fieger’s sixth consecutive  appearance in the Senior PGA Championship and is set to tee off at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday and at 12:20 p.m. on Friday.

Kaufman, a PGA Teaching Professional at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, qualified for the Senior PGA Championship after placing 17th with a four-day total of 286 at the Senior PGA Professional Championship. Kaufman will tee off on Thursday at 7:25 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. on Friday to kick off his second consecutive Senior PGA Championship.

Mielke, a PGA Life Member, secured his second Low Club Professional award at the Senior PGA Championship last year after being the only player, of the 41 PGA Professionals, to make the cut in 2018. Mielke will look to defend his title, starting Thursday at 2:15 p.m. and at 9:05 a.m. on Friday.

This will be Mielke’s fifth overall appearance in the KitchinAid Senior PGA Championship, to add to a career that includes five PGA Championships, four U.S. Opens and two U.S. Senior Opens.  

The 80th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship returns to Oak Hill Country Club’s historic East Course for the first time since 2008. For a full field list and tee times, click here.
