Hart and Forgatch Win Challenge Event #2

ATLANTIS, Fla. – This weekend, the South Florida PGA Junior Challenge Tour presented by The Honda Classic held Challenge Event #2 at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, FL on the Dunes Course.  Players were treated with perfect weather on a challenging golf course. 
Ryan Hart of Naples, FL opened up round one with a 4-over-par 76 to take a one stroke lead in the boy’s division.  Hart came out firing during Sunday’s final round, making birdies on the first two holes.  Hart would add two more birdies on the front 9 while only making two bogies.  Hart was able to cruise on the back 9 and finish with a final round 75 to win the overall boy’s title by four strokes.  Devan Chahal of Parkland, FL fired a final round 1-under-par 71 to capture the boy’s 13-15 age division.  Rex Riefler of Vero Beach took home the boy’s 16-18 age division after rounds of 83-76.
Bridget Forgatch of Palm Beach Gardens, FL took the round one lead in the girl’s division after an 81.  Forgatch was able to shoot a final round 82 to capture the girl’s division by five strokes on the demanding Dunes Course.  Ana Ojeda of Doral, FL took home the girl’s 13-15 age division, while Meghan Faulkner of Stuart, FL took home the girl’s 16-18 age division after winning a scorecard playoff.
Glorida Nip of Port St. Lucie captured the girl’s 11-12 age division after rounds of 79-77.  Jake Manelas of Fort Lauderdale, FL took home the boy’s 11-12 age division after rounds of 76-77.

The SFPGA Junior Tour presented by The Honda Classic is a membership-based tour open to boys and girls ages 11-18 in South Florida with the aspirations and skill levels to compete at the High School and Collegiate level and features some of South Florida's most talented junior golfers. The Junior Tour offers twenty-nine two day championship events for junior golfers in South Florida. The 29 events are divided between the Championship Tour, an invitational tour featuring extended yardages, and the Challenge Tour.
