ATLANTIS, Fla. – Thursday, November 1st, begins the 2012 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Championship being played on the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.
For the 17th consecutive year, PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., is hosting this prestigious Championship presented by Cobra Puma Golf, a national championship for 126 PGA assistant professionals and apprentices. The 2012 field will feature the top four finishers from last year’s Championship as well as 122 players who advanced through their PGA Section Championships.
The South Florida PGA is proud to send six PGA Professionals to this prestigious competition. South Florida PGA Professionals who will be competing at the Championship this weekend are, Richard Terga of Palm Beach Gardens, Christopher Stanko of Stuart, Carl Hays of Boynton Beach, Chris Trout of Fort Myers, Drew Pierson of Bonita Springs, and Adam Koloff of Miami. We wish our SFPGA Professionals the best of luck during the Championship weekend.
For nearly 40 years, this tournament has produced outstanding PGA Professionals who have gone onto successful careers in teaching and administering the game, as well as competing at the highest level. Past competitors or champions include: Loren Roberts (Champion, 1979); Fred Funk (Champion, 1984); Rich Beem (Third, 1998); and Tim Thelen (Champion, 2009).
Tee times begin at 8:00 AM on Thursday, November 1st.
