The first Golf Industry Seminar, supported by E-Z-GO and hosted by the South Florida PGA in cooperation with the North Florida PGA, Florida Golf Course Superintendents Association, and the Florida Chapter Club Managers Association of America featured a great day of invaluable education and discussion with the golf industries top leaders in player development, Joe Steranka, Jack Nicklaus, and Donna Orender. The seminar was conducted at PGA National Resort and Spa on October 5th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The morning began with a panel discussion with Joe Steranka, CEO of The PGA of America and Honorary PGA Member, and Jack Nicklaus, President of Nicklaus Golf Companies and World Golf Hall of Fame Member, was led by Russ Evans, director of the Golf Exchange show presented by The Honda Classic. Discussion took place about growth of the game initiatives. Discussion developed about the direction of the industry, and how to attract new players and retain the core consumers of the game. Later, a member from Nicklaus Golf Companies spoke about how to maintain and improve golf facilities so that they are more sustainable for the future of the industry.
After lunch, Jeff Barrett spoke on behalf of E-Z-GO in regards to the advances in Golf Cart and Maintenance Vehicle design that has become highly sustainable and efficient.
Finally, seminar attendees were educated by Donna Orender, President of Orender Unlimited, Consultant to The PGA of America, and former President of the WNBA. She spoke on how to better engage women at their facilities. Donna’s vibrant presentation was followed with a question and answer session.
Attendees of this seminar had the incredible opportunity to engage in an interactive learning environment with the golf industry’s leading innovators and growth of the game leaders.
