Rinker, SanFilippo, and Sabo qualify for the 74th Senior PGA Championship

ATLANTIS, Fla. — The 24th Southworth Senior PGA Professional National Championship presented by Mercedes-Benz USA, took place this past weekend, October 11-14 at Creighton Farms in Aldie, Virgina, and River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia. Returning to prestigious event from the South Florida PGA were Ken Martin, Pete Oakley, Mike San Filippo, and Ed Sabo, all of which were exempt from qualifying. In addition, the South Florida PGA Senior Section Champion, John Lee, Lee Rinker, Frank Dobbs, Jerry Tucker, Jim Karr, Gary Knapp, Gene Fieger, John Nelson, John Calabria and Michael Brooks also competed in this prestigious event.

Rinker of Jupiter, who finished the four-day event with a total of 298, SanFilippo of Hobe Sound who fired a 4-round total of 298, and Sabo of Tequesta who posted a final 299 all qualified for the 74th Senior PGA Chamionship presented by Kitchen Aid, May 23-26, 2013 at Bellerive CC in St. Louis by finishing in the top 35. We offer them our highest congratulations for qualifying for this prestigious event. We also congratulate all participants who competed admirably representing the South Florida PGA in this year’s Senior Professional National Championship.
